How To Redirect Email Subscribers to a Thank You Page in Squarespace

In some of the entrepreneurial Facebook groups I belong to, I've noticed Squarespace users asking how to share a downloadable PDF or a video with email subscribers as soon as they sign up, but before they confirm.

One solution is to redirect them to a Thank You Page that you create in your Squarespace website.

Before we start, let's get the assumptions out of the way:

Assumption 1 - you already know how to add a newsletter block to a page or post.
Assumption 2 - you're all set up with an email service provider like MailChimp or ConvertKit.

(I will link to tutorials at the end of this post if you don't know how to do that yet.)

How to Redirect Email Subscribers to a Thank You Page in Squarespace

Step 1 - Create a dedicated thank you page. Add info to share immediately and remind subscribers to check their inbox to confirm their subscription.

Step 2 - Add (or edit) a Squarespace newsletter block. Set up storage and display if you haven't already done so.

Step 3 - In the Advanced section of the newsletter block, add redirect code to the post-submit html section

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://YOUR URL HERE">
(Copy this handy piece of code and keep it somewhere safe!)

Step 4 - Test it out.

This video walks you through how to do the above steps. It's just under 4 minutes long.

What was that code you need again?

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://YOUR URL HERE">

And where do you put it?

In Newsletter Block --> Advanced --> post-submit HTML section.

Would you like to see what my current thank you page looks like? Of course you would. Right? Right. ;)
